I am 5′7″ and never am able to sleep comfortably in an airplane seat… even business class. I emerge from the airplane with a sore back and sometimes sore legs, neck and arms. I used the First Class Sleeper Pillow on a recent trip to Asia, 32 hours door to door. The first class sleeper produced an incremental improvement in comfort in my coach seat. Although it didn’t produce a miraculous improvement, it produced an improvement none the less. I liked the added support to my lumbar spine and the stabilization of my neck. It provided several sleeping positions which I could not have maintained without it.

One point that is not mentioned in the literature is that few people can maintain a single sleep position for more than about 20 minutes, so you need several satisfactory positions. This is particularly true in avoiding pain in the weight bearing part of the lower body which touches the seat.

If you are thinking of buying one I would encourage you to do it. It is not very expensive so if you don’t expect too much you will likely be very satisfied. It would be nice to have a check valve for the inflator so that your inflation doesn’t leak out between puffs.

I used this in combination with the Therm-A-Rest Camp Seat on a 20 hour coach flight to Asia. It was the perfect size to fit on the coach seat. It was much more comfortable than the regular seat, and I found myself relaxed and comfortable at the end of the flight. I herniated two discs last year and was worried I would be in pain for my entire trip, but with this product I experienced no back pain at all.

The pillow only needs a few breaths to fill up to the proper inflation pressure. While it will seem like it is not even close to being inflated properly, once you lean back against it you will find that the small amount of air is perfect. It supports your lower back, shoulders, head and neck. I did try putting more air in it, and it is less comfortable because it is too firm and does not conform to your body. Follow the directions and you find that it is amazingly comfortable.

When it is deflated, it rolls into a fairly small size that easily fit into my backpack.

I recommend this for anyone who is going to go on a long flight and wants to be comfortable and rested at the end of the flight.

I bought the First Class Sleeper for a flight to Asia. I have lower back problems and was tired of getting dirty looks from other Economy class passengers from taking all available pillows in the surrounding seats for back support. For both my flight to Asia and the return trip, the airline stewards and stewardesses noticed the pillow, love it, and asked me for details on where to get one. Using this pillow, I had NO BACK PAIN after a long plane ride for the FIRST TIME EVER! The First Class Sleeper has earned itself a permanent place in my travel kit.

A few notes about this product:

* The pillow is inflated through a tube, not unlike the tube that they have on the life preservers (you know those yellow life preservers under the airplane seats where you blow into a tube to inflate.) The tube has a twisty bit at the end, which you turn to keep the air inside the pillow. To deflate, you unscrew the end of the tube and fold the sleeper pillow to let the air out.

* The Sleeper pillow does not fully inflate. So count your breaths, because the pillow will not look like it has air inside when it really does. It helps to over-inflate (10 breaths) and then decrease the air until you get to a comfortable level

* Since you are sharing the seat with your pillow, make sure that your legs have room to stretch under the seat in front of you. Having a large bag under the seat will make things uncomfortable because you will have no room for your legs.

* The pillow comes with a slim carrying case bag that’s about 10-12 inches long. The size of the carrying case makes it a bit awkward to carry if you are not using a carry on bag.

* Practice using the pillow on a chair at home before road testing it. Given the amount of time that you have to get to your seat, get your stuff in an overhead bin, and get settled in your seat before someone else is demanding access to the seat beside you, it helps to understand how the pillow works so that you can inflate and get settled very quickly.

In all, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product, if for no other reason than the fact that for the first time in years, I am not popping pain meds during and after a long plane ride.

This pillow has worked better for me than some very expensive medication. Such a simple solution for nighttime acid reflux. I wish my doctor had had me try this first instead of just resorting to a prescription!

I got the 7-inch height rather then the 12-inch, and it creates plenty of elevation for me (granted, I’m pretty small). But I feel like the 12-inch wedge would feel like sitting upright, and might be better as a reading-in-bed pillow but not so great for sleeping. 7-inch creates enough elevation to alleviate reflux, but I still feel like I’m lying down. This pillow is also great for reading in bed with a pillow or two stacked on top. And I admit, my fiance and I have come up with a few other fun uses for it in the bedroom.

The pillow initially had a bit of an unpleasant foam smell, but this has dissipated. I put a towel over it and that seemed to solve the problem. Shipment arrived quickly and in great condition. Would definitely buy again!

For years I have had the ‘too hard/ too soft’ pillow problem. Finally with this 7 inch wedge I thiink I found my solution. I have only had it a few days so I don’t know about durability, but as of now it seems ‘just right”. I need extra height for my sinuses, but I don’t like a pillow that is hard as a rock. This 7 inch wedge gives the height without delivering a crick in the neck, like a very firm pillow might do. So, I just add my very soft latex pillow on top of the wedge and it’s very comfortable. I can even sleep on my side or stomach. Actually, I haven’t been able to sleep on my back for many years ever since I had panic attacks, because dropping off to sleep on my back made me startle awake with a feeling like choking. I might be able to sleep on my back with my upper body propped up this much. So, maybe this fairy tale will end with ‘Happily ever after.’ if this wedge doesn’t hold up over a few months, I will look for one just like it, but with better durability. Now that i know what works, I would be willing to spend more for durability if I must.

I have suffered from Seasonal Affective Disorder all my life. My first lamp was one I bought from a competitor 10 years ago. I have got to say this Verilux lamp is amazing compared to the old one. The light is a soft whitish-blue, not harsh at all. When it turns on there is little “warm up” time. The cost is especially worth it…as my first lamp was $250. I had this problem for the past couple of years where I would not be able to sleep between the hours of 10pm and 3am. So I would end up falling asleep usually between 3-4am. Since I would have to get up at 730am for work I would end up getting 4 hours or less of sleep a night. This would result in me getting home from work around 5pm dog tired. I wouldn’t feel like working out or doing much else. Often I would fall asleep around 6pm for a couple of hours. On the weekends I would fall asleep around 4am and sleep until 2 in the afternoon. I hated the whole pattern. If you’re too tired to do anything it messes up your whole life. I tried the melatonin pills but those didn’t work to well for me. I had these spacey dreams and this spacey feeling just before I fell asleep but that was it.

It is amazing how well the litebook worked for my sleeping problems. I got it in April and I use it for about a half hour in the morning while eating my breakfast and reading the news on my computer. The first thing you notice is that it gives you a kind of pick me up in the morning. I use it every day during the week, and sometimes on the weekends if I get up early enough, since you are supposed to use it at about the same time each day. It took a couple of weeks for it to start helping my sleep. I began getting sleepy around 11pm instead of around 300am. It’s been almost four months and I really notice a change. I don’t slack off at work as much anymore. I’m in better shape since I exercise more — I don’t blow it off because I’m too tired.

I will say that in addition to the litebook I also did a couple of other things to help with my sleep. 1. I cut out all caffeine. No coffee or soft drinks or anything that has it. 2. Really limited my drinking of alcohol. I noticed that if I had more than two drinks in a day it would disturb my sleep. Three or four drinks would lead to noticeably less restful sleep. More than that, and if not hungover, I would feel a little rundown and beat.

In the end I will have to say I am totally happy with this product. It helped me take care of a major problem in my life. It’s amazing how having screwed up sleeping patterns drags the rest of your life down. Now I pretty much consider myself cured.

I need to start right off and mention that the size of the Philips Wake-Up Light is a little larger and rounder than what I noticed in the stock photo. This is not a bad thing, it is just something worth noting when you look at the dimensions of the light and decide where you are going to place it. As far as aesthetics, it is a pretty neat looking light that fits in with my contemporary decor, so I was happy about that.

I used the light last night and this morning and woke up to a bright light and the sound of chirping birds at 7:15 a.m. What I noticed immediately was the light which was not assaulting on the eyes and the sounds of chirping birds. The sounds brought two of my cats promptly to my bed stand to see what the new gadget was and where the birds were. Besides chirping birds, you can also choose to awaken to the sound of an FM radio station, and some other chimey, bongo-ish types of sounds. I chose the birds and was not disappointed. The sound is crisp and the light is very nice and mellow. The device brightens the light over a 30 minute period and this is supposed to help to create a more peaceful type of awakening. I did find myself waking up and I am not sure how it happened … whether it was the sounds of the birds or the light itself. Regardless, it was an interesting experience and I will keep using the light.

The unit is highly configurable regarding intensity. You can choose light settings that range from 1-20 and the wake-up light can also serve as a nice and decorative reading lamp at your bedside. I like this extra functionality and will definitely find it very useful as the unit sits on my night stand.

The directions are easy to follow and the Wake-up light comes with a nice set of quick start instructions so you can get going right out of the box. There is also a more in-depth manual. The snooze switch is easily accessible (a rod-like switch that you can easily feel for and access).

Overall I like this lamp very much and would recommend it.

Update: 10/9/09 - the light has been a wonderful reading light (one of the features I actually enjoy a lot) and a great wake-up took. The fact that the light brightens over a 30 minute period and the birdies chirp along with it is actually very soothing and effective. I love it!

I have been looking for an alternative alarm clock for a long time. I don’t like to wake up to beeps and I haven’t even enjoyed listening to the radio station lately. Our favorite show is off the air.

The Philips Wake-up Light is really different, and it has a lot of options too. It works by gradually increasing the light, over the course of 30 minutes so your body slowly wakes up. I suppose you could do the same thing by keeping a shade open but then you would only have one alarm time - when the sun comes up. You also have from 1 to 20 for the light setting so you can adjust it however you like.

On top of that, there are sounds. You can use the traditional radio or a beep but what I really like is the nature sounds. There are three to choose from: Birds, African Drums & Chimes. I love the chimes and that is our wake up sound.

The most complicated part for me was setting the clock up. I’m usually the one who sets up the electronics and I have to say this was a bit frustrating until I really figured it out. You use the same buttons to press, then dial your choices and it took me a good half hour to get it set how I wanted it. Philips does have phone support so, although I didn’t end up having to use it, I was glad that was an option.

We’ve been using it for a week now and it really works. My husband has always been light sensitive and he wakes up from the light alone. He has really noticed a difference in waking up more easily and feeling more awake as soon as he rises.

I am a deeper sleeper and most days the light alone doesn’t wake me. But as soon as the chimes start playing at the set alarm time, I wake up. And I love it! It’s a great sounds to wake up to.

The only negative is that the light bulb is not replaceable. The manual says that it should last for seven years but I don’t like planned obsolescence, and would like to use this wake-up light as long as possible.

Other then that, and the tricky set-up, it’s a different and wonderful way to wake up in the morning - we are loving it.

You don’t need to have SAD issues to love this lamp. Albeit a bit overpriced, it’s something worth having. Tired to waking up to cloudy dark mornings, I got this lamp and a remote, so that I can turn it one without leaving the bed. This light is very bright, pretty well mimics the morning sunlight (at 4200k) rather than being too yellow (2700k) or white (5100k) or blue (6000k), and really gets your day started.

I’d highly recommend it to anyone who simply doesn’t happen to be living in a always-sunny state and have a bed next to a east facing window.

Here in Maine, we have many gloomy days. We need this to help with the blues. We set it on the table while reading the paper, At night we use it again for about 30 minutes. It has two settings, High and low. The legs are sturdy enough. Long cord, which helps. I must say this light works well. Excellent Warranty. I live in Minnesota where it’s winter about 65% of the year. A lot of cold, dark mornings where your alarm goes off and you want to stay in a warm snuggly bed because there’s not a shred of sunlight to be found. The default setting is a 30 minute gradual awakening, but other settings from 15 minutes to 90 minutes are also available. The thirty minute setting is perfect. Over the course of thirty minutes before selected wake-up time, the large frosted globe begins to softly glow until full room-filling brightness is reached at the time one wishes to awake. One wakes gradually to the light much like one does later in the morning as sunlight fills one’s room. At the pre-selected wake-up time, a gentle clicking sound grows louder until the clock is shut off. Certainly makes getting up in the dark more pleasant. I don’t know what you guys are talking about. The ionizer is my favorite part. It smells like when you come in from outside on a cold day. Or possibly a copy machine. Not in a bad way though. Perfect to keep energy up when in front of the computer all day. I ordered it to replace an old box style Ott light purchased many years ago. Replacement bulbs for that are no longer available and it had lost its brightness. I used to leave it on all day long. We have a bad sulfur problem with our well water. I put a carbon filter on the whole house water supply, didn’t touch the problem. Our water will dissipate the sulfur and taste OK (not great though) if it sits for 24 hours. I bought this without high hopes, figured if it didn’t work we could age the water in it.

It worked right away, and the water tastes better than most of the cheap spring water we used to buy. Only had it a week, don’t know how long the filter will last with our water. The filters cost $20 for a 3-pack locally. So about $7 each. If they can make it three months with my water it would replace the 10 (at least) of the 2.5 gallon spring water containers we would buy in that time. That’s about $28 vs $7 for the filter.

So far, I’m impressed.

When this arrived from Amazon it was in a box that just fit and there was no padding to protect from getting smashed if UPS stacked heavy stuff on it. My was not damaged, but I can see why some complain about this. When I unboxed this I was impressed with its quality. Now don’t make the mistake I made when I tried to pull the blue water tray out. It would not budge and then my wife tried and it slipped right out! The reason was that I grabbed the outer container up high and I was pinching the clear plastic into the blue part, my wife grabbed it lower and it came right out! My kids love it and have started drinking more water because the like to play with it and fill their cups/bottles. It is easy to handle/fill. I fill it up every night and pop it in the fridge. I got a great deal on it and they had a “free water bottle” promotion so I have a cool aluminum water bottle also!

This is a great filter for your refrigerator. However, it is kinda big. We are sharing an apartment so the filter takes around 1/4 of the entire shelf. However, it is better than the smaller filters since you have to fill up less. It is a great product and the water tastes amazing after filtering.

The other systems advise the user to be stationary for the 30-minute treatment time.

5. Daily Whitening with Tartar Protection is another 6% hydrogen peroxide gel strip. It is used just 5-minutes/day, and has an added chemical that discourages tartar from attaching to the teeth. It has 38 upper and lower strips in the package. Some people form tartar very easily, especially on the backs of the lower teeth, and this product inhibits the tartar from attaching to the teeth.

In using any of the Crest bleaching products, please follow the specified instructions that come with each product.

I used this product and I was curious as to the deterioration of the tooth enamel. My buddy was also worried about similar worries. I looked online and found an reputable site “Pubmed.com”. There was an article that had testing done to see if the teeth undergone structure susceptibility. The results showed there was no structure damage even after “Over Bleaching”

I personally used this product but I guess I would be under the study group of “over bleaching”. I would put them on before I went to bed. Sometime in the night the strip would come out or I would spit them out half asleep. The product worked great. I had people telling me how incredibly white my teeth were. They did become sensitive but I still do not understand how sensitivity affects the teeth long term.

I just finished using this product. It took me 9 days instead of 7 since I would only use one strip on certain days when I experienced some sensitivity in my teeth.

I really liked this product, I posted my before and after pic in the customer gallery up there, check it out and you can see my results. As you’ll be able to see by the pictures, my teeth are obviously less yellow and much brighter.

The bottom half of my teeth are still a bit yellow, but with another pack I might be able to get a shade whiter if I want. Overall, this was a great product for the price.

I received these whitestrips as a X-Mas gift and recently finished the 7 day application. They worked quite well. My teeth are brighter and whiter than they have ever been. I am completely satisfied.

You are supposed to apply the strips twice a day for 30 minutes at a time (so 1 hour per day) for 7 days. It took about 3 - 4 days before I really noticed a difference and after the full 7 days, there was a great improvement.

I never had any tooth or gum pain using these but I know someone else who said it made her gums hurt a little. Wearing the strips makes it a little hard to talk so don’t plan to converse a lot while you whiten. Also they seem to cause more saliva to produce in your mouth. However, it’s only 30 minutes at a time.

As the title suggests, these strips are a quick and easy way to whiten your teeth. I recommend them and will probably use them again if my teeth become too dark.

I’ve tried other whitening products and was really disappointed in the results…messy gels, taste of product, etc. But the Crest Advanced Seal strips are AWESOME, all around, and completely different from all the competition. They adhere to your teeth wonderfully, there is no noticeable taste that I can discern; and there is no messy gelish gross stuff that your teeth are sloshing around in. As far as I’m concerned, they are the best whitening product you can use short of an actual dentist! I have no issue getting them on my teeth or removing them, and the great part about how well they adhere for me is because my teeth are not perfectly straight, but because they adhere so well, I can sort of detail them to my teeth, for an even whitening job. And about the actual whitening ~ I thought the results was VERY noticeable! Unlike the suggestion on the box, I preferred to brush my teeth just prior to putting them on…I’m not sure why they suggest you don’t, but it bugged me personally, and I don’t think it negatively effected my outcome because my teeth look great!

I have used all the Crest products leading up to these, and ‘Advanced Seal’ has by far been my favorite one. The ‘Classic’ and ‘Pro’ both worked as they were supposed to, but the way they were made, they would kind of unstick from your teeth with the saliva and hydrogen peroxide gel bubbling, so I would constantly be trying to re adhere them. The gel would dissolve in the saliva also, so there was always a weird medicinal flavor–not so unpleasant that it deterred me from continuing, but bad enough that ‘Advanced Seal’ felt like a huge step up. ‘Advanced Seal’ neither peeled off nor released any off-flavors in my mouth.

I also tried the Aquafresh trays, and they were HORRIBLE. The trays are one-size-fits-all and I would like to know who has front teeth 1/4 inch wide. The gel goes everywhere and stays on your teeth for no time. For people that experience mild gum sensitivity from putting the Crest strips, the Aquafresh trays are a nightmare! I received no results, was in pain the entire box, and had essentially threw away my money. In afterthought, I should have thrown the stuff away after trying the first one!

I had tooth sensitivity issues with the ‘Pro’ but not with ‘Classic’ or ‘Adavanced Seal’, meaning, for ‘Pro’ some of my teeth felt sore, which is a weird feeling, but it only occurred if I did the recommended 2 a day–cutting down to 1 eliminated all the problems. All of them whitened about the same–noticeable to people I knew, but not totally fake-looking either, just the right shade of white.

So, to summarize, the whitening strips I’ve liked best have been the ‘Classic’ and the ‘Advanced Seal’.

‘Classic’ is the mildest of the strips I’ve tried, so people with sensitive teeth or gums would probably do best with them. They are the least expensive, but they also take 28 days (twice a day) to whiten. They don’t stick as strongly as ‘Advanced Seal’, but eventually do work just as well, for around half the price.

‘Advanced Seal’ is just a more streamlined version of ‘Premium’–just as good in 1/4 the time, with much less effort to keep them on. If you’ve got the money, I loved ‘Advanced Seal’ and will buy it again when my teeth need whitening again!

I’ve tried numerous tooth bleaching products over the years. None of the tooth pastes work. Crest white strips were the best I’ve found, a fact confirmed by consumer reports recently. However, I hated them because, as other reviewers have noted, the strips did not stick to teeth sufficiently and moved around or came off during treatment. Having to fool with them constantly basically made it impossible to do anything else while the treatment was in progress. These Advanced Seal strips totally solve that problem. They adhere much better with a thicker stickier peroxide gel. The lower strip is also shaped in a way that helps it stay in place — the outer upper edges of the lower strip are trimmed so that they do not wrap over the molers. This was where the worst of the dislocation occurred with the old strips. With this new design the strips stay put, and the gel stays put, and the gel gets to work on the tooth. Whitening follows. Great! While the strips are slightly harder to remove, its no big deal and well worth the benefit of having them stay where the are supposed to be for each 1/2 hour session.

It is very easy to use, and I have never had any tooth sensitivity to the product. (Careful not to get it on your gums, though, because it can sting!). I will definitely order this product again after my current kit runs out (which won’t be for a few months; this kit lasts a long time!).

I bought this kit a few months ago after trying the Crest Whitestrips with no results (although, granted, they were a couple of years expired). Anyway, seeing the great reviews for this whitening kit and the much higher whitening strength of the gel, I decided that for the price it was worth at least trying out.

One issue that I noticed a few reviewers had were with fitting the mouth guards. Although it can be a little bit tricky, this really isn’t very difficult to do, and if you read the directions and do it exactly like it explains (practice first!), you shouldn’t have much of a problem. First off, when the directions say no more than 3 seconds or so, it means it! Anything longer than that melts the tray so much that it folds and loses all shape. The top tray was easiest to do, and I fit it perfectly. But I did have a little more trouble with the bottom because it is more difficult to get the proper suction on the tray for it to fit right. BUT you can re-dip it in the water and do it again if you mess up!!! I re-dipped the bottom tray 4 - 5 times before I finally got it where it worked for me. It doesn’t change it or hurt it at all by doing it several times, so if you mess up it’s no big deal, just do it again. There’s no need to throw it away and use the second pair. Also, the directions say that you do not need a perfect fit for the product to work, but the better the fit the better it will whiten. As I said, I had problems fitting the bottom tray, so it didn’t fit to my teeth as well as the top tray did. But since the instructions said you don’t need a perfect fit, I decided it would be ok and didn’t worry about it. But after a few whitening sessions, I noticed my top teeth were getting much whiter than my bottom teeth and that they they didn’t seem to be whitening much at all. So that’s when I decided to try to remold the bottom tray and make it fit better. After several tries, I finally found that actually physically holding the tray tightly to my teeth worked best. At the same time, I also ran my fingers along the entire tray to make sure that it fit tight against my teeth. The tighter it is, the less saliva gets in and washes the gel off your teeth. For me, this was key! After I did it this way, my bottom teeth finally started to noticeably whiten.

Now on to actually applying the gel. First, I liked to dry my teeth off because I figured the gel would stick to my teeth better. And instead of putting the gel in the tray, I applied it directly to my teeth using the syringe and just spread it around on my teeth with the tip, which was quick and easy to do. I also found that it works best if you put a pretty decent coating of gel on each tooth, because saliva does seep in and start to wash it out. So if you put too thin of a coating, the saliva will wash it away pretty quickly and not give enough time to really whiten. Since the product comes with a big syringe of gel, you have more than enough to use and don’t have to skimp. I used it for about a month and still have some gel leftover.

Granted this is only my second time to whiten my teeth, and I haven’t really tried many of the other products available, but this kit worked amazingly well and everyone has commented on how white my teeth are and have even asked me what I used and where I got it. I used it a month before I got married, and one of the first things I noticed with my wedding pictures was how blindingly white my teeth looked, which is exactly what I wanted. I couldn’t be more satisfied, and I would recommend this product to anyone!

This is my first ever review on amazon, i thought i would take the time to say how well this product works.

First, please please plase, do the thermo molding to the dental trays before you try applying the gels. Boil water, insert for literally 3 seconds and quickly place in your mouth and suck the air out so it molds to your teeth. You’ll also need to carefully trim down the trays until they cover only a little bit of your gums, don’t go right to the teeth line otherwise your inside of the lips will wash that part of the gel which seeps out. Also, you don’t need to use a tremendous amount. I put a thin strip from end to end, and it spread out very smoothly over my teeth.

Now for how it works:
Fantastic, i noticed results after one application. But do note, i freaked out after the first time. My teeth whitened more on the biting surface than the portions near the gums, also there were a few white spots. Apparentyl this is completely normal and is due to there being thinner enamel at the biting surface so it bleaches quicker, and the spots are from areas of decalcification. Completely normal and fades by the morning if you apply it at night.

After 3-4applications my teeth are a ton whiter, quite a noticable difference from the yellowish color they used to be. I don’t smoke, so my teeth probably aren’t the yellowest ever.

one last thing, my first application, the gums which protrude between the teeth bleached white,and i was scared i ruined my gums haha, but it went away after a few hours. Apparently this was from using too much gel, and it seeped out onto my gums. Be careful. (it’s actually a chemical burn caused by the oxidation by the peroxide)

I’ve been using the Crest Whitestrips Supreme about once a year since they were first introduced at the dentist. I love that I can now buy them online without the crazy markup my dentist used to charge. I also love that now, rather than having separate packages for upper and lower, they’ve combined a single use into a single package. I wonder, though, if they’ve also changed the formulation. My teeth didn’t seem to get as white as quickly this time, but I also didn’t experience nearly as much sensitivity. Still, though - I would recommend these to anyone as the “poor girl’s semi-professional whitening.” You won’t get the results you’d get for in-office whitening and it takes a lot of time - however, you’re also not paying $600. Overall, a very good value for those of us who don’t have huge amounts of money to drop on vanity.

We bought this thermometer because our other one took forever to take a temperature, and we weren’t convinced of it’s accuracy. For those reasons we went with this instant read one that goes in the ear.

It is instant read taking just one second, and it tells you your temperature. It comes with a white carrying case. The display is large, and it shuts off automatically.

It read temps consistently. Interestingly enough, temperature varies between ears. Or at least in my family it does. But the readings were consistent no matter how many times we checked. But I’ll have to read the manual to see if it says you are supposed to check one ear over the other.

The battery it takes is one of those weird circular kinds, so when it does run out of batteries I’ll have to make a special trip somewhere - but that is a pretty minor concern.

I suppose all thermometers work well. I mean, if they don’t tell you the temperature, they won’t last long.
I rarely get sick. But when I do, I get cranky. Sitting for minutes, trying to breathe through a stuffed-up nose, while an oral thermometer reads my temperature doesn’t help.
This product is fast, and accurate - and it doesn’t cost a fortune. If I use it once a year, it’s worth it for the comfort. For a larger family, it’s even more valuable. Good buy.

I buy it direct from amazon, and I say to them that it is a very good thermometer, the measurements are quite exact and is single question to learn like using it, because 4 steps are single;

1) to press the button to ignite it.
2) to place it in the external auditory conduit with much gentleness until listening to bip…
3) Soon to move it by far well-taken care of of right to left until listening to 2 bip.
4) after this without moving it, again pressing the button until listening to 4 bip.

It does not have complication, is single something of practices.

This thermometer works like this:
you press a button to turn it on, you’ll hear 1 beep to signal battery is ok. Then you stick it in the ear, and wiggle it around until you hear two beep which signals that you’ve positioned it correctly. Once you hear the two beeps, hold it in that position and press the button again to mark the result.

Ignore the other reviewers’ comments on inaccuracy.

The key to this and *ALL* ear thermometers is you have to practice getting it placed correctly in the ear channel. At least this model tells you that you’ve put it in the correct position, with the 2 beeps sequence. Once you’ve practiced getting it right, I get fairly consistent readings.

The difference between this and a $10 rectal thermometer reading is 0.2*F. The difference can easily be accounted for because you’re measuring two different parts of the body.

This model is spec’d to be accurate within +/- 0.5* F, (same as the $10 rectal thermometer, by the way).

Even though I don’t know how accurate other brand’s are spec’d to be, but I’m pretty sure you can’t get much better than this in terms of accuracy. For goodness sacks, temperature readings could be thrown off by 1 or 2*F by the earwax in your ear or whether you had a cold beverage in the past couple of minutes.

Expecting any more is unreasonable in my opinion.

My wife and I went through many different digital thermometers, and none of them seemed to work… Oral, ear, forehead, it didn’t seem to matter which they just never gave consistent readings and every time we would call our doctor to tell them our child was ill he would ask what was their temperature and we really couldn’t tell him. Now we get a consistent reading that is as accurate as the readings we get from the doctor’s office. My only complaint (and it is small) is that the forehead temperature reader doesn’t work that well, which is fine because the ear temperature can be taken very quickly, less than a second, so there is no need to use the forehead reader.

My wife purchased this digital thermometer after pouring herself over hours of research and reading. Being an audiophile and a Registered Nurse, she’s one of those people that reads the manual on everything first, never makes an impulse purchase and often times calls the company directly via the phone numbers listed on the packaging (which she usually copies down in the store).

I had purchased a different thermometer for her as birthday present, but that’s a whole other story. Needless to say the Braun Thermoscan Thermometer was her preferred choice. The reasons are thus:

1.The readings this device give are the most accurate for any ear thermometer on the market at any price. This should be the most important reason - all - the time.
2.The sterile caps are a necessity and even if you’re only using the device on one child you should do everything in your power to cut down on ear infections.
3.The reading it takes occurs very quickly.
4.The beep is more for me than it is for her, which she thinks is a must. Removing the device early is a common mistake.
5.The ‘ease of use’ makes taking an ear reading a simple matter. Easier than oral, rectal or armpit and a world of difference over the newer Temporal Thermometers.
6.The storage of 1000 readings which is a blessing when you have to look back at the data, and some of us do.

My son likes this thing so much he quickly figured out how to stick it in his own ear a few times and press the button and wait for the beep, which caused my wife to scowl and panic, but of course I just thought my son was gifted like all foolish parents out there.

The cost of the small plastic filters is incredibly minimal as is the actual cost of the device itself. Sure, you can go to Target or Wal-Maze and buy yourself another cheapie, but then you’ll be back exactly where you are now sometime later … looking for a dependable and accurate ear Thermometer.

This is currently the best.

I almost didn’t buy an ear thermometer because my Pediatrician will only accept an rectal temp but my kids are too squirmy for that - even when they are sick. However, every time I have taken a rectal temp the temperature has matched the ear temp exactly. In the middle of the night, when my daughter is crying so hard that she can’t talk - it is a life saver. I know within 3 seconds if I am dealing with a suprise fever or a just a bad dream.

I have used a few other products and they were junk but the Braun IRT4520 gets the job done. Light weight and easy to use and durable. I like the battery option using two AA’s than others who have the small flat disk types. When it comes to my kids health I want to get the information quickly and comfortable as I can. I found that this thermoscan worked so well I bought two of them one for me and one as a gift.

I initially got this as a “well baby” thermometer, one I would use when they didn’t have a fever, if they did I’d go to my old rectal method, BUT it worked so good, the temp was never more than 0.3 than what the rectal showed, so now it’s my main thermometer, I don’t bother with the rectal one anymore. It’s so easy to use, and since you don’t even have to touch the baby there’s no way you’ll wake her up!
I’m very happy with this thermometer.

I’ve historically been an Exergen thermometer fan. One of those that you swipe across the forehead. See, I have a son who is a brain cancer survivor, so I’m used to taking someone’s temperature frequently throughout a long duration hospital stay.

As an investor in the company that makes this thermometer (symbol: ASFX) I figured I’d give it a try to support the company.

To my surprise, this thermometer is not only easy to use, but my children love it, and it’s very accurate. Reading the instructions or watching the video equally show you how to use it, the key thing is to use it exactly as the instructions say. Make sure you push the button once to get it ‘ready’ and then hold it while you line up the dots. If you don’t that right, the accuracy will be questionable.

One of the things that’s different with this thermometer that takes some getting used to is that with it taking the ‘external’ temperature as quickly as it does it’s range of ‘normal temperature’ is slightly different. The documentation calls out these ranges, so you just have to get used to the normal ranges.

I am confident that it gets the temperatures accurate, especially for high fevers and I have personally used it to read temperatures up to 105. It’s great and worth the money for yourself or a gift.

I have the original model and this one. I am a school nurse and am using both of these in my office and just love the ease and quick accurate readings I get using them. The instructions say to use it on the forhead and that the forehead needs to be dry or it will reflect the laser light. In darkness you just hold down the laser light button until it is one circle on the forehead (dry) and let go and get the temp. Use the memory button to get your reading once you are in a lit room. It reads low when kids have not eaten breakfast or have drank something cold. It can be used on the jugular artery in the neck area also. I have a backup B&D digital mouth thermometer to get a second reading if I have any questions. This might be needed once or twice a day max. Love this as there is no spit to be touching and my severe disable kids are not bothered with it. I have used this for 6 hours a day for the last 10 months and all I had to do was change the battery. Love love love this product.

I love that you can use this product on the forehead or in the ear. It’s true that it gives varying readings, but any thermometer will do that depending on where it’s placed on the forehead or angled in the ear canal. I always take 3 readings and go from there.

You are not supposed to take readings in the ear on infants less than 6 months old (their ear canals are not angled right), so the forehead/temporal setting is way cool.

I work in a pediatrician’s office and use a popular competing ear-only thermometer, I’ve found it gives varying readings as well. It just depends on placement.

My 21 month old was wary of this at first, but after a few times of using it, he loves it. He WANTS me to take his temperature whenever he sees it.

I also like the other features: backlit display, talking readout, 30 reading memory with date/time, flashlight, room temperature reading, and that it needs no probe covers.

I recently bought this product for my baby. This thermometer even reads out the temperature for you, but if you find it annoying you can turn it off. You can set the date and year on there. It stores temperature readings for you. It is versatile- meaning it takes both the temple temp AND an ear temp. It’s also takes fast reading so you don’t have to struggle with a squirming child. The numbers are easy to read and it gives an accurate reading. I really love this product.

We have an old house where the temp fluctuates all the time - turning the heat up or down one degree can make a huge difference specifically in the baby’s room. Bought this because I thought it would be easy to see since I have contacts during the day and am semi blind at night. Works GREAT - I can see the numbers from the hallway as I crack the door to his room, and also the fact that the colors change according to the recommended temp is fantastic. Well worth the price. Not to mention that it looks cool in his room….

I simply love this thermometer and it makes for a good night’s sleep. My son loves to look at it too - we say ‘Goodnight Mr Egg’ every time he goes for a nap or to sleep at night.

Yes, the thermometer is sometimes off by upto 2 degrees but I never find it off more than this. I got another digital thermometer to check as I had to set my mind at ease.

Now, a quick glance at night is all I need to get back to sleep without any worries. It also acts as a very good night light when it is yellow too.

Overall, I’d say this was one of my favourite baby items and will recommend this to all my friends.

While I’m not a parent myself, I purchased this TWICE: one for a friend, and one for an acquaintance. Both are new expecting mothers (aged 17 and 22), and I did so since I know rectal temperatures are the most reliable. (Apparently you need to add 1 degree to temperatures given in the armpit for babies.)

My mother told me that back in the early ’80s, when I was a baby, she never used rectal thermometers, since they only had the standard long thermometer, and she was scared she would insert it too far and hurt me. My mom saw this thermometer when it arrived, and was very impressed at the improvements since the ’80s.

The benefit of this thermometer is that it has a short AND flexible tip, so you can’t hurt the baby. It’s also digital, and gives a reading within 10 seconds. The package claims that it will give a “high temperature reading” when temperatures reach 99.9 degrees or above. I think that would be very helpful to parents, especially NEW parents.

Even though I’m not currently a parent, this had more positive reviews than any other current thermometer given orally, in the ear, or otherwise (i.e. under the armpit). I would probably purchase this myself in the future when I have children, although I will wait for the response from my friend/acquaintance to decide for sure.

I am sure I am not the first parent who has had to try and keep a struggling child steady while waiting 2+ minutes for the thermometer to register a reading. In this regard, the Braun ThermoScan is ideal. It takes an accurate ear reading in just a few seconds! The probe also does not feel cold to the touch, so my child actually seems to like having her temperature taken. The only drawback so far is that the LCD panel is not back-lit. It is impossible to see the reading in the semi-darkness, and one has to go to a light source to check the measurement. Otherwise, a great product.

We have a store-brand ear thermometer and it works okay for an adult, but this Braun is much more comfortable which translates into a much more pleasant baby (who is already grumpy enough when sick). I also prefer the type of ear inserts this Braun uses over the stretchy plastic kind as they are faster and easier to attach and discard (just personal preference). An important factor for us was our pediatric doctor’s (and his nurse’s) recommendation. This is the one that they use.

Our daughter got sick and we ended up in the hospital for 8 days. The nurses were coming to check her temperature every 6 hours and instead of using the hospital thermometer they were using ours!!!
It’s the best thing that we ever bought! When a baby is sick he is fuzzy and with regular thermometers it takes from 30 seconds up to 3 minutes to get a reading, with the Braun Ear one takes 3 seconds and there is NO discomfort whatsoever!!! You be the judge!!!

After I received this product I finally started using it yesterday. It took me some time to get the trays right. I heated, shaped, heated shaped a few times but the top one fits really well. The bottom needs a little work. Anyway, last night after i got the trays ready i put the whitener in the tray and popped it in for 30 minutes on the top (was having difficulty doing the top and bottom at the same time, but this might be because the bottom tray isn’t shaped as well.
After I took out the top and rinsed my top teeth were noticeably whiter than the bottom after only one use!!! I did the bottom and then this morning I did both (I didn’t have to talk to anyone) for 15 minutes and they look even whiter.
It is easy for me to tell because I have one tooth that has to be professionally whitened due to a filling cover up, so it doesn’t get any whiter with this type of treatment. It is easy to see the old shade (the one that won’t whiten) right next to my regular teeth that have been whitened with this product. So far I haven’t experienced any sensitivity.

I bought this because I stained my teeth really bad drink ICED TEA here in Iraq. I’ve used a few times and have noticed a difference, although it’s not movie star white, i don’t use it how the directions say to either. I use it maybe twice a week and the directions say 3-4 times a week I believe. I have bottom braces and you’re not supposed to do it with braces.. but I do i’m just hella careful with it haha

I received my first kit….used it….and it did not whiten my teeth. I was stressed at work and didn’t feel like “arguing” with customer service so I didn’t mention it for a while. Then I thought “hey, you spent the money”….so I sent an email explaining that the kit did not whiten my teeth like the other commercial brands did.

Soon after, I received an email with a tracking number, telling me a new kit had been sent to me, and that they stood by their product 100%.

Wow. Excellent customer service. So now, I’m on my third day…..and I have to say…my teeth are “glow in the dark” white! I must have just gotten a bad batch the first time. Stuff happens….but the key is whether the company is ready to make it right, and this company did. I’ve still got days and days to go…but already after the third treatment, my teeth are whiter than with the other store-bought brands.

Also, the type of peroxide used in this product does not cause the excrutiating pain that the other products do. Thats a plus.

I have been using Slimfast for quite a while as I have lost weight and now need to work at keeping healthy with my food choices. I used the Slimfast Optima in the cans for the longest time. They were fine but very bulky to purchase and store and though the drinks did fill me up for 4 hours as stated they weren’t such a treat while drinking them. They tasted fine but were somewhat bland.

I ordered this powdered version for convenience sake. The order comes with 3 cans - 14 shakes per jar - for a total of 42 shakes. What a great deal! But most importantly I have the freedom to make the shakes to my preference for a treat just like a milk shake. With the directions they say you can just mix it with milk and drink. I don’t recommend this - very boring. Definitely use a blender. I use the powder, ice and milk in the blender and add my favorite fruit as well. What I get is a frothy, tasty, cold delicious treat that I look forward to drinking. I savor it and it holds me over for 4 hours and is so preferable to the premade shakes in a can.

It is important to remember that no nutrition/diet item is a miracle worker. This product will give you meal supplements that you will love to drink but it still rests on you to make healthy choices the rest of the time. Slimfast does have great tools for free on their site to help you as you try to loose weight and eat healthy.

The Slim Fast Optima is amazing and definitely gives you the protein and nutrients needed. For me it definitely does what it says and curbs my hunger for about 4 hours. I had been using them in the cans and found it a little pricey and bulky to store. I use them for breakfast and lunch and they work great.

This powder mix is a great deal. 14 shakes can be made from each canister and you get 3 canisters here. What a great deal. Also, you have many different options on how to make the shakes. You can just stir the powder with nonfat milk. This will do the trick but it feels like you are drinking just a small amount. The carton comes with directions on how to make thicker shakes with milk, ice and a blender plus recipes to add fruit for a tasty treat. Following these options I think they are much better than the cans. More flexibility.

Also it is very important that you have to want to loose weight. You need to make sure you eat adequate meals along with the shakes and that you eat healty. Be aware of how you are eating and the addition of the Slim Fast Optima shakes will certainly help you reach your goal and loose weight while living healthy. I find that by having them replace 2 meals each day when I do eat my stomach is smaller and I don’t want to eat portions as big as I used to.

The shakes help me get milk into my diet, satisfy my sweet tooth, get some protein, and resist high-calorie, high-fat ice cream treats. The flavor is great, and when prepared this way, the shake is thick and cold. I keep this product on-hand all the time.

I am a big chocolate fan! BIG! This shake has such great flavor and it is really easy to mix. I have tried this with water and with skim milk, and they both come out really good!! This is a really clean shake! Nothing weird in it, and just makes you feel good about what you are drinking.

My first thoughts on the Right Shakes…

Is WOW!

I tried the chocolate light one today and it was SO good. It felt great like I was getting a treat and something I can look forward to everyday.

When I orginally tried ordering in May Right was out of stock. I ended up buying protein powder (way too much of it) from Wal-mart. I should have known better! Every time I made a protein drink I wondered if I was actually getting the right balance for myself. I can’t help to wonder if it even helped me on my progress or if it hurt me in anyway.

My two favorite things:

1. Taste. It’s fantastic! It doesn’t taste like a nutrition drink to me…it tastes good!

2. The consistency…it was smooth, creamy & light.

1. 1. You have to start thinking about quitting first. Talk to non-smokers about what they think about smoking, look at yourself in the mirror, check into the benefits of quitting. Think about all of the negatives of continuing to smoke, and the positives of becoming a non-smoker.

If you’re looking for a solid nutritional meal replacement shake then RIGHT is an excellent choice. I like this vanilla version best because you can alter the flavor easily with just an extra ingredient or two. This instant shake packs in 22g of protein along with a lower 11g of carbs. That is perfect for those who want to have protein and low carbs their diet - anybody doing BODY FOR LIFE will appreciate the ease of this. Bill Phillips developed these shakes for his own personal use, and you can tell the ingredients are truly top notch. The taste is good, and these are the right size for a meal replacement. These are certainly a great value and a superior product.

I purchased the Vanilla Cream version of muscle milk in the 4lb bottle after a friend from work recommended it to me. I didnt purchase the bigger bottle because I had tried GMC protein powder before trying Muscle Milk and the GMC protein powder required 6 scoops of powder + milk and it really filled you up so much that you could barely finish a single drink without feeling too full. The GMC protein powder also had very little taste, I had to add sugar to give it some taste.

Muscle milk is completely different, and far better! it only requires two scoops of powder and no sugar. It taste great either with water or with milk but I usually drink it with vitamin D milk. It has a smooth, creamy, and delicious taste that goes down smooth and taste just like an ice cream shake. I drink it 1 hour before I work out and in the morning as a breakfast shake. I highly recommend buying one of those Bodytech shaker bottles that lets you toss the powder and milk inside and just shake it without needing a blender, I have one of the blue ones myself they go for like $4.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a good protein shake, its the best I have ever had.

This stuff really does the trick. I’ve only been using it for about a month and I’ve noticed more bulk and I’ve lost about 6 pounds of fat already. The major plus to the Mocha Latte flavor is that if you mix 2 scoops of it with a cup of black coffee, it tastes awesome! And it mixes extremely well with coffee. Almost no stirring. I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to lose pounds of fat WHILE adding muscle. Don’t get me wrong as it is NOT a miracle worker. My results stem from 1 shake a day plus a healthy diet added to about 30 minutes of cardio workouts and 30 more minutes of weight training. Do that every day and I guarantee you’ll see results too.
